Baseball Recap: Sinton Has No Trouble Against Cornerstone Christian

Sinton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday. The Sinton Pirates never let the Cornerstone Christian Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Pirates this season.

The team relied heavily on Kash Wood, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Sinton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.17 hits in those games compared to only 4.78 in the others. With the defeat, Cornerstone Christian broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Sinton is taking a road trip to square off against Ingleside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will face off against FEAST HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. FEAST HomeSchool will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cornerstone Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
