Basketball Recap: Grantsburg Comes Up Short

After flying high against Frederic on Friday, Grantsburg came back down to earth. The Pirates took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flambeau Falcons on Tuesday.

Flambeau's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sully Reich led the charge by shooting 46% from the field on his way to 18 points and three steals. Reich is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Chanse Ludescher, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds.

Grantsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Flambeau, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Grantsburg will take on Northwood at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flambeau, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rib Lake at 6:00 p.m.
