Baseball Game Preview: Florence-Carlton Falcons vs. Stevensville Yellowjackets

The Florence-Carlton Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Stevensville Yellowjackets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Florence-Carlton will be strutting in after a victory while Stevensville will be coming in after a defeat.

Florence-Carlton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Whitefish, who was ranked tenth at the time (Florence-Carlton was ranked ninth). The Falcons were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Saturday. That looming 8-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

Florence-Carlton secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Brodie Hinsdale, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Florence-Carlton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Stevensville lost 12-5 to Frenchtown on Thursday.

Shane Ayers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Cole Germane also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Florence-Carlton's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Stevensville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
