Notre Dame Academy (Park Hills, Ky.).
Mother McAuley not only beat Notre Dame Academy but handed in-state foe
Marist (Chicago) its second loss of the season and gave
Divine Savior Holy Angels (Milwaukee) its first defeat. That was enough to counter a Thursday non-league loss to No. 14 Assumption, which has played one of the toughest schedules in the country.
The other major national tournament to slide in before most teams start looking toward postseason was the Nike TOC Southwest, won by
Saint Francis (Mountain View, Calif.). The Lancers outlasted
Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio, Texas) in the title match as
Erin Curtis was named tournament MVP. Teammates
