Baseball Recap: Donegal Comes Up Short

Donegal was the 4-3 winner over Manheim Central when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Barons by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Donegal got a good showing from Tommy Hairhoger, who struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Hairhoger has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leland Condran made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Donegal's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Manheim Central, they moved to 13-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Donegal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manheim Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Lampeter-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Barons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
