Basketball Recap: Benson Comes Up Short

Benson lost against Westview back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bunnies were dealt an 84-42 loss at the hands of the Wolverines. The game marked the Bunnies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Benson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Damian Ruiz, who posted ten points. Zhyaire Partee was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Reegon Hollingsworth produced another solid effort going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc to rack up 23 points for Westview. That's the most points Hollingsworth has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of EJ Swindle, who had eight points along with seven steals and six assists.

Benson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Westview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Benson has already played their next contest, a 79-63 win against Bryan on the 18th. Westview has also already played their next game (against Burke), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
