Basketball Game Preview: Amherst Central Tigers vs. Williamsville North Spartans

The Amherst Central Tigers will take on the Williamsville North Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsville North took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Amherst Central, who comes in off a win.

Amherst Central will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating West Seneca West, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Amherst Central walked away with a 53-40 victory over West Seneca West on Monday.

Meanwhile, Williamsville North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 52-43 to Jamestown. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red & Green 16-12 in the first quarter.

Amherst Central's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Williamsville North, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Amherst Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Williamsville North in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 64-60 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amherst Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
