Football Game Preview: Catonsville Comets vs. Randallstown Rams

The Catonsville Comets will head out to take on the Randallstown Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Catonsville hasn't scored more than seven points for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Catonsville is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Milford Mill Academy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Comets were dealt a 62-0 defeat at the hands of the Millers. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Millers are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 33 points the game before, Randallstown was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Hereford by a score of 15-12. The Rams have struggled against the Bulls recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Catonsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Catonsville strolled past Randallstown in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 by a score of 34-16. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Rams' Elijah Lee, who rushed for 96 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Comets to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
