Baseball Recap: Burke Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Burke's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Omaha South Packers on Friday. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Sean Holland was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.

Burke's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Omaha South, their record is now 10-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burke will face off against rival Fremont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Omaha South is set to take on their familiar foe Bellevue East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
