Basketball Game Preview: Myrtle Beach Seahawks vs. Conway Tigers

Myrtle Beach has won three straight games at home, while Conway has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Myrtle Beach Seahawks will host the Conway Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Myrtle Beach didn't have too much trouble with St. James as they won 62-47.

Myrtle Beach got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was James Watson out in front who went 8 for 19 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of John Simmons, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Conway beat North Myrtle Beach 54-45 on Tuesday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Chiefs are ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Myrtle Beach better keep an eye on Trevon Johnson. He was instrumental in Conway's win, putting up 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Crawford, who posted nine points.

Conway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Myrtle Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Myrtle Beach strolled past Conway when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 53-37. Does Myrtle Beach have another victory up their sleeve, or will Conway turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
