Basketball Recap: Beekmantown Comes Up Short

After flying high against Saranac last Tuesday, Beekmantown came back down to earth. The Beekmantown Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 60-59 to the Franklin Academy Huskies. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost three in a row.

Beekmantown's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Franklin Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Beekmantown and Franklin Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Beekmantown (ranked 137th) will meet Saranac (ranked 348th) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Franklin Academy will challenge Peru at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday up 262 places (194 vs. 456).
