Softball Recap: Franklin County Tech Beats Wahconah Regional for Their Third Straight Win

Franklin County Tech proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wahconah Regional Warriors 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three games in a row.

Hannah Gilbert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Petersen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylee Gamache, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Franklin County Tech now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wahconah Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Franklin County Tech didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 22-11 victory against Pioneer Valley Regional on the 15th. As for Wahconah Regional, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Greenfield on the 15th.
