Basketball Recap: Orono Comes Up Short

Orono was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 67-42 to the Mattanawcook Lynx. While losing is never fun, the Riots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Lynx are ranked fifth).

Orono's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mattanawcook, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orono will venture away from home to face off against George Stevens Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mattanawcook, they will head out to challenge Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
