Basketball Recap: Adelyn Sisco's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pawnee City over Exeter-Milligan/Friend

If Pawnee City was riding high fresh off their 55-19 takedown of Lewiston last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pawnee City Indians fell 36-29 to the Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats on Friday. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Pawnee City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Adelyn Sisco, who posted seven points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Those seven points gave Sisco a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emalyse Gottula, who had seven points and 13 boards.

Even though they lost, Pawnee City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Exeter-Milligan/Friend to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Tuttle, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Tuttle, who put up two points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Pawnee City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 7-11 record.

Pawnee City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-27 defeat against Linn on the 1st. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-30 loss against Diller-Odell on the 3rd.
