Basketball Recap: Kazion Morehead's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Freeport over Boylan Catholic

Freeport was the 56-50 winner over Boylan Catholic when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Freeport Pretzels took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boylan Catholic Titans. The Pretzels' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Several Pretzels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kazion Morehead, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 12 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Andrew Seward, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Boylan Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-23.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rockford Auburn the next time they take the court. Freeport will host Rockford Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Boylan Catholic will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
