Softball Recap: South Walton Takes a Loss

South Walton managed to slip by Holmes County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. South Walton lost 10-1 to Holmes County on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Seahawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Tatum Kreinus made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Zoey Kreinus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

South Walton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Holmes County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Walton will venture away from home to square off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Walton will need to watch out since Freeport has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Holmes County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Holmes County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Walton has averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
