Basketball Recap: Beaches Chapel Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Beaches Chapel's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the First Coast Christian Knights by a score of 54-47. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Knights back in November, they had to take a 48-47 defeat.

Beaches Chapel's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for First Coast Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.

Beaches Chapel won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Baker County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Baker County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Beaches Chapel likes a good challenge. As for First Coast Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Temple Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
