With a playoff win on the line, George Washington rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past Nueva Esperanza 18-3. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

George Washington let Riley Devlin and Yamaily Madera Martinez run wild. Devlin went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Madera Martinez went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Becca Varhula was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

George Washington's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Nueva Esperanza, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Looking ahead, George Washington will look to defend their home field on Monday against Science Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. Nueva Esperanza does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
