Baseball Recap: Las Cruces Falls Short Against Ranked Centennial

Las Cruces faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldawgs fell 7-4 to the Hawks. The Bulldawgs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Isaiah Borunda made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Las Cruces' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-3 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Dominguez, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Las Cruces' defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Centennial, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-2.
