Basketball Recap: Chinle Takes a Loss

Chinle was the 74-55 winner over Tuba City when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chinle Wildcats fell 60-53 to the Tuba City Warriors on Wednesday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 18-7 in the first quarter.

Among those leading the charge was Tyler Tsinnie, who posted 23 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Koyan Saufkie, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Chinle's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Tuba City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

While Chinle had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
