Softball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fairfield can now relate to. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hamilton County Foxes on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Mules in their meetings with the Foxes: they've now lost three in a row.

Fairfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Remi McCune, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Hamilton County, they pushed their record up to 17-15 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hamilton County, they will challenge Anna-Jonesboro at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Foxes surely won't give up without a fight.
