Basketball Recap: Ysleta Takes a Loss

Ysleta lost against Clint back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ysleta Indians lost 52-28 to the Clint Lions. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andrea Flores was Ysleta's leading scorer, having posted six points. Destiny Quintana held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Clint had a senior duo take command as Chloe Arredondo almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds and Anabella Portillo posted eight points along with 12 boards and four steals. Portillo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Annika Rueda was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ysleta's loss dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Clint, their record is now 21-9.

Ysleta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clint, they will venture away from home to square off against Irvin at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
