Basketball Recap: Connersville Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Connersville lost against Pendleton Heights back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Connersville Spartans lost to the Pendleton Heights Arabians at home by a 52-37 margin.

Despite the loss, Connersville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kendyl Bottomley posted 15 points and seven boards. Bottomley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ahniyah Bennett was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

It was another big night for Kaycie Warfel, who went 9 for 13 en route to 26 points and five steals for Pendleton Heights. The game was Warfel's 31st in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Jones, who put up four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Connersville's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Pendleton Heights, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Connersville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-31 victory against Rushville on the 25th. As for Pendleton Heights, they will challenge Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pendleton Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
