Volleyball Recap: Shelley Extends Winning Streak to Five

Shelley had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Burley Bobcats 3-0. This was payback for the Russets, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jaida Cook paced Shelley's offense, picking up ten kills. Cook got some help from Mallory Higham and her 29 assists. Finally, Valerie Dalling kept Shelley's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Shelley's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Burley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Shelley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Eagle on the 26th. As for Burley, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Wood River at 7:30 p.m.
