Basketball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Wekiva Mustangs

The Timber Creek Wolves will head out to challenge the Wekiva Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Timber Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Florida State University High School, taking the game 63-50.

Timber Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Taylor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Hibbard, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wekiva strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 55-23 victory over Seabreeze. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 32 points or more this season.

Timber Creek now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wekiva, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Timber Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Wekiva in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 44-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
