Baseball Game Preview: York Catholic Fighting Irish vs. York County Tech Spartans

The York Catholic Fighting Irish are taking a road trip to face off against the York County Tech Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. York Catholic will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

York Catholic's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Littlestown by a score of 3-0.

York Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Yingling, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That's the most hits Yingling has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, York County Tech lost 11-4 to Biglerville on Wednesday. The Spartans have struggled against the Canners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

York County Tech also got a good showing from Cody Wagman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

York County Tech's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for York Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

York Catholic couldn't quite finish off York County Tech in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Fighting Irish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
