Basketball Recap: Copper Hills Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Copper Hills can now relate to. They were beaten by the Westlake Thunder 83-55 on Friday. The Grizzlies' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Copper Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daxton Nelson, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Nelson a new career-high in field goal percentage (67%). Another player making a difference was Isaiah Reiser, who put up ten points and six assists.

Copper Hills' loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Westlake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.

Copper Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westlake, they will challenge Davis at 12:50 p.m. on Monday. Davis will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight.
