Soccer Game Preview: Saint Mary's vs. Richmond

The Saint Mary's Panthers will face off against the Richmond Oilers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Saint Mary's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Saint Mary's faced off against Albany on Tuesday. Saint Mary's fell just short of Albany by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Richmond played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They walked away with a 3-1 win over El Cerrito.

Saint Mary's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Richmond, they now have a winning record of 3-2-4.

Saint Mary's skirted past Richmond 1-0 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does Saint Mary's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richmond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
