Basketball Recap: Olathe Gets the Win

Olathe won the last time they faced Ridgway, and Isaiah Gordon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Olathe Pirates slipped by the Ridgway Demons 58-57 on Tuesday thanks in part to Gordon, who posted 36 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Olathe's points.

Jack Combs was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (two).

Ridgway lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Henry Deppen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Deppen is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Brodie Musgrove, who scored 18 points.

Olathe now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Ridgway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Olathe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-56 defeat against North Fork on the 24th. As for Ridgway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-35 victory against Ouray on the 24th.
