The Salesian College Preparatory Pride will face off against the Albany Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Salesian College Preparatory comes in on 11 and Albany on three.
While Salesian College Preparatory's win against Piedmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pride had just enough and edged out the Highlanders 5-4 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Pride have won by just one run.

DeAmor Coleman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.
Coleman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Villanueva, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Villanueva has hit this season. Dakota Harrell was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Albany walked away with it. They blew past the Bruins 14-3 on Friday. Considering the Cougars have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Salesian College Preparatory, Albany also got a great game from a two-way player: Caroline Snyder. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Snyder was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lauren Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Albany kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Salesian College Preparatory pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Albany, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Salesian College Preparatory hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Albany struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
