The Bethel-Tate Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Bethel-Tate has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Thursday, Bethel-Tate needed a bit of extra time to put away Fayetteville-Perry. They had just enough and edged out the Rockets 10-9. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brayden Seibert and Carter Moss made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Seibert tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Moss pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Seibert went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Moss went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Moss is becoming a predictor of Bethel-Tate's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-10 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Simon Houser was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Landen Schultian was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Bethel-Tate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Miami Valley Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Lions have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Garrett French was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. French was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin French, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Nickum, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Miami Valley Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bethel-Tate, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Bethel-Tate might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Miami Valley Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
