Softball Game Preview: Brooke Bruins vs. Madonna Blue Dons

The Brooke Bruins will face off against the Madonna Blue Dons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brooke has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with ten straight losses, while Madonna will come in with six straight victories.

Brooke came up short against Harrison Central on Monday, falling 13-7.

Emilee McKinney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Jazymn Wood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

McKinney wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Brooke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, while Madonna put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Beallsville. Madonna put the hurt on Beallsville with a sharp 15-0 win. The Blue Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Madonna's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brooke, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Brooke beat Madonna 11-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Does Brooke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madonna turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
