Volleyball Recap: Victor Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Victor hadn't done well against Fairport recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Blue Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Red Raiders, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since September 15th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Victor got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 25-15, 26-28, 15-13.

Emma Graney was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grace Repich, who had four digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Victor was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive contests.

Victor pushed their record up to 12-4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Fairport, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Victor and Fairport should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Blue Devils (ranked 24th) will meet Rush-Henrietta (ranked 206th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fairport will square off against Webster Thomas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (45 vs. 142).
