Softball Recap: Kellam Picks Up 13th Straight Win on the Road

Kellam had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cox Falcons as they made off with a 9-3 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Kellam pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Cox, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kellam will square off against Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cox, they will take on Great Bridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
