Softball Game Preview: Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers vs. John Paul II Catholic Saints

The Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the John Paul II Catholic Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastern Christian HomeSchool is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Pungo Christian Academy. Eastern Christian HomeSchool never let Pungo Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trailblazers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, John Paul II Catholic made easy work of Thales Academy Rolesville on Friday and carried off a 21-7 win.

Logan Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alana Albritton, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Velleman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

John Paul II Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Eastern Christian HomeSchool might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from John Paul II Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Eastern Christian HomeSchool avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
