Volleyball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Warriors vs. George Jenkins Eagles

The Calvary Christian Warriors will face off against the George Jenkins Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Christian will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Calvary Christian had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Clearwater Central Catholic on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Marauders. The Warriors not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16th (when they won 3-0).

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Calvary Christian took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-9, 25-15.

Calvary Christian can attribute much of their success to Olivia Badyna, who had 14 digs and one assist. Sam Karjala also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. George Jenkins lost 3-0 to East Lake. George Jenkins has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

George Jenkins took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 26-24.

Calvary Christian's win bumped their record up to 23-1. As for George Jenkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.
