Softball Recap: Canandaigua Academy Comes Up Short

Canandaigua Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 14-1 to the Batavia Blue Devils. The Braves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Canandaigua Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Principio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Canandaigua Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Batavia, they moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Canandaigua Academy will square off against Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bombers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Batavia, they will take on Honeoye at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
