Football Recap: Oblong Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Oblong was feeling good fresh off their 43-6 takedown of Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers had to suffer through a 40-6 loss at the hands of the South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Lush, who picked up 150 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 62 yards on only six carries. Lush also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending three passes in addition to snagging an interception. George Bailey was in the mix too, providing South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville with two touchdowns.

Oblong's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
