Baseball Recap: Highland Rams vs. Madison Bobcats
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Highland and Madison had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bobcats 13-11. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Bobcats on Wednesday, they had to take a 8-5 defeat.

Mason Payne was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Highland got a massive performance out of Preston Foltz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Foltz has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lana Alvarico, who went 3-for-6 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Highland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Highland's record now sits at 5-7. As for Madison, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
