Baseball Game Preview: East Palestine Bulldogs vs. Columbiana Clippers

For the second straight game, East Palestine will face off against Columbiana. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Clippers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

East Palestine is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Columbiana. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Clippers on Tuesday.

Cale Moraski was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Moraski was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Peyton Rutledge and Phoenix Marvin did most of the damage at the plate: Rutledge scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Marvin scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Robb, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

East Palestine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbiana only posted an OBP of .286.

East Palestine took their win against Columbiana in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Clippers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
