Basketball Recap: Grandview Heights Takes a Loss

Grandview Heights lost against Franklin Heights back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Grandview Heights Bobcats fell 76-67 to the Franklin Heights Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 605th, while the Falcons are ranked 292nd).

Noah Kershaw was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 18 en route to 26 points and three steals for Franklin Heights. With that strong performance, Kershaw is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Uthman Sherif was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Grandview Heights has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Franklin Heights, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grandview Heights has already played their next game (against Columbus Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Franklin Heights will face off against Bexley at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin Heights is facing Bexley at the right time seeing as Bexley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
