Paradise Adventist Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 67-24 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Rio Lindo Adventist had strong showings from MJ Lepulu, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and six blocks, and Jordan Campbell, who posted 11 points. Those six blocks gave Lepulu a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Stephens, who had two points and ten rebounds.

Paradise Adventist Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points per game. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Paradise Adventist Academy has already played their next game, a 47-29 victory against College View Academy on the 25th. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 45-26 win against Monterey Bay Academy on the 25th.
