Baseball Game Preview: Boardman Spartans vs. Austintown-Fitch Falcons

The Boardman Spartans will challenge the Austintown-Fitch Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Boardman's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out West Branch 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Not much got past Collin Resetar, who gave up just four hits to keep West Branch off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grayson Eicher, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Girard typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Austintown-Fitch proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Indians.

Boardman's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Austintown-Fitch, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.

Everything went Boardman's way against Austintown-Fitch in their previous meeting back in April, as Boardman made off with a 13-5 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
