Baseball Recap: Fairfax HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Fairfax HomeSchool fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Southern Maryland Christian Academy on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Martin Ewell was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fairfax HomeSchool has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.

Coming up, Fairfax HomeSchool will head out on the road to square off against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, they will take on Eastern in a tournament on Saturday.
