Basketball Recap: Finley Banks and Makenna Stuckey Secure Win for Dakota

There's no place like home for Dakota, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Durand Bulldogs 46-23 on Friday. The contest marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season so far.

Leading Dakota to victory were Makenna Stuckey and Finley Banks. Stuckey posted 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Banks had 12 points and four steals. That's the most points Banks has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Maddie Kuhlmeier, who put up four points.

Dakota smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Durand lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aurora Hilton, who posted 11 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Moore, who earned five points and six rebounds.

Dakota's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Durand, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Round Lake the next time they take the court. Dakota will head out to face Round Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Durand will host them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
