Baseball Recap: Perrysburg Gets the Win

Perrysburg won the last time they faced Bowling Green and things went their way on Friday too. The Yellow Jackets walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellow Jackets.

Bowling Green's batters probably weren't too happy with Andrew Charpie, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up four walks). Charpie has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan Rettig was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in June of 2025.

Perrysburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Perrysburg now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Bowling Green, they moved to 6-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Perrysburg and Bowling Green could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Yellow Jackets will take on Archbold at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (171 vs. 44). Meanwhile, Bowling Green (ranked 249th) will meet Clay (ranked 75th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
