Baseball Recap: East Noble's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

East Noble dropped their record down to 12-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeland Lakers. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lakers earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

East Noble saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Ramey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another was Parker Kerr, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

As for Lakeland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Lakeland's side, Levi Cook was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Cook has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Holbrook, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drannon Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Looking ahead, East Noble will welcome Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to face off against Leo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season.
