Genoa-Hugo/Karval lost to Flagler back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Pirates came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 45-38.

Among those leading the charge was Rylee Corn, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kazlei Vaughn, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Schier, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Berry, who put up four points and nine boards.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Flagler, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Genoa-Hugo/Karval will take on Hi-Plains in a holiday battle at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Flagler, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hanover at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
