Basketball Recap: Dixie's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Dixie's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs. The win was some much needed relief for the Flyers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josie Myers, who posted six points along with eight boards and five blocks. Myers is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zee Brinagh, who earned eight points and four steals.

Dixie's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Crimson Cliffs, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Dixie won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow Canyon will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something Dixie surely won't give up without a fight. As for Crimson Cliffs, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crimson Cliffs is facing Hurricane at the right time seeing as Hurricane is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
