Baseball Recap: Southern Aroostook Triumphs

Southern Aroostook hadn't done well against Wisdom recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Warriors walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Pioneers. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Dillan Bishop made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Shawn Grass and Isaiah Foster did most of the damage at the plate: Grass went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI, while Foster got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were Grass' first of the season. Jakoby Porter was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Southern Aroostook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Southern Aroostook's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Wisdom, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pioneers beat Southern Aroostook by a score of 9-6 later that day.
